Women Are More Vulnerable for Mental Disorder

Women who experience mild psychotic two times more than men, so women are classified as vulnerable groups. However, for the weight of mental illness like psychosis, the ratio of men and women is one to one.

It is said that culture becomes one of the factors that put women in a precarious position so they seemed helpless. The example of the light mental disorder in women is depression and anxiety. The patriarchal culture makes women feel powerless. Women are so weak mental endurance and so have a tendency to suicide.

The suicide rate was also higher in women than in men. Another cause of the women’s vulnerable is the biological changes in women’s bodies. Changes in women’s hormonal make emotional conditions, such as during pregnancy, after childbirth and also before and during menopause. Mild mental disorders such as depression, makes women ignore their health condition and the baby that increase the risk of infant and maternal mortality.
