Morning sickness and nausea affect most women during early stages of pregnancy, and many women say it is the worst aspect of carrying a baby. Morning sickness can occur at any time of the day and ussually disappears by the end of the firs trisemester. The cause is not clear but is probably due to a combination factors.The problem is often worse when your blood sugar are low. So you should eat regularly and avoid missing any meals. Many women find that nausea in the morning, as this is usually the longest time they go without eating, but it can happen at any time.In order to minimise it, try to avoid rich foods and have a snack or a drink before getting out of bed in the morning.

It is helpfull to eat or drink small amounts frequently. Pregnancy sickness is rather like travel sickness, so try to move arround slowly as this can help.If the nausea and vomitting is making you fell very miserable, your doctor may prescribe safe anti-sickness medication. Sometimes morning sickness can very bad, leading to severe dehydration. In such cases, the women may need to be admitted to hospital for fluids to be administered intravenously.

There are some simple measures you can take that may help you to cope with morning sickness :

  • Don’t rush arround too much in the morning. This may be easier to said than done. But, if possible get your partner to help you with some of the chores,at least during these first few weeks.
  • Keep a few biscuits by your bedside to eat before you get out of bed in the morning. When you’re felling queasy you may find ginger biscuits or ginger ale makes you feel better, or try eating a little dry toast,or sucking a mint. Sometimes sipping a cup of hot water can help.
  • Eat small amounts regullary and avoid over eating
  • Avoid strong smell, such as spicy cooking or strong parfume.
