A child born from mothers who smoke during her pregnancy, are more likely to be smokers, so the results of one new study .The researchers at the University of Arizona using data from the “Tucson Children’s Respiratory Study” to see the relationship between the mother who smoking during pregnancy and behavior of the child to smoke later. The researchers are assessing the mother’s smoking during pregnancy and when their babies are 1.5 months and 1.5 years and smoking again when children aged 6, 9, and 11 years, affect the behavior of the child. Then they examine the child’s smoking behavior when they are 16 and 22 years.
In addition, children of mothers who smoke during pregnancy and the first year they have more small possibility to stop smoking compared to children of mothers who never smoked or a new start smoking when their child enters school age. The research says biological changes take place in the belly. “However, chemical smoke to change the brain,” said lead researcher Dr. Rony Grad, vice-professor in child health clinics that university.
“If you exposed smoke before born or in the early years of life, you are very likely to become a chronic smokers at the age of 22 years,” said Grad. The researchers put their studies in the international conference “American Thoracic Society in San Diego, Souther California.

Bagi orang tua yang menginginkan anakny atidak merokok maka anggota keluarga tidak disarankan merokok atau memberikan pengukuhan positif ketika anak remajanya merokok. 2. Teman sebaya memberikan pengarugh yang besar kepada remaja untuk merokok, dalam hal ini seyogianya aorang tua mewaspadai terhadap pergaulan kelompok teman sebaya anaknya. 3. Perilaku merokomk lebih didasarkan atas pertimbangan emosional. Berkaitan denagan masalah tersebut upaya preventif maupun kuratif sebaiknya tidak hanya menggunakan pendekatan kognitif sepert pemberian informasi bahaya- bahaya atau dampak negatif dari merokok , tetapi lebih pada sentuhan- sentuhan afeksional yang dilakukan.
